Question: For many years, my family has been under tremendous stress caused by my 22-year-old son’s behaviour. He has issues with drugs and sometimes alcohol, as well as emotional disturbance — ADHD. He struggles to control his behaviour, despite the huge support of us as parents.

My husband and I have reached breaking point as we are approaching 60 and cannot deal anymore with demands for money for drug debts. We’ve already given him many thousands of euros. We also cannot live with the general stress and worry that someone may knock on our door. Our son has spent several periods in prison.
